Safety By Design & Strengthening Parents

Absolutely anything should be done to avoid the damage that child exploitation brings.

Including changing the environment to be truly safe.

Parents should not only have a high age limit for when their child uses the internet, but they should also keep them as safe as possible if they do use the internet.

It's also worth it to literally escape from the dependencies on cities, governments, computers, and our money-driven society:

Also, please reach out and help us figure out how to provide resources to parents and keep children as safe as possible. Obviously, a ridiculous amount of parents don't do enough to protect their children from grooming and other kinds of exploitation, despite the solution being ridiculously easy.

Get helpful resources, and important messages to be known to everyone. We are always reaching out to people trying to share useful content. Like content creators, people with influence, and people with knowledge on these kinds of subjects. 

We should always think about what should be possible rather than what is currently possible.

And, you don't have to be alone when doing great work - There are projects like ours and many others that are team and co-operation based!

Technology Responsibility

Independence

Since these systems can be taken advantage of, we should strive for control over the technology we use. Everything from making use of control settings on platforms, to using new platforms, to designing our own platforms/communication methods.

Or, better yet - being dependent from the internet entirely and not needing it to live.

Everyone doing their part

A lot of the modern problems of CSE have to do with predators taking advantage of systems. Every company that contains CSAM/predators can implement filters, and moderation - as well as work with law enforcement to handle reports.

This accountability can extend to smaller online projects/communities - Just make sure you are doing what you can to prevent exploitation. This work requires all of us - from people keeping their online space safe to getting laws passed - the whole Earth is fighting this great fight, and we aren't alone.

A minor should not be the one taking the responsibility for something like exposing themself to CSAM even for the purpose of reporting - If that kind of task is required, (like in the case of law enforcement, and also in the case of reports that employees manually review) then it should only be done by adults who fully understand and accept the mental health risks. It's not to say a minor can't do it correctly  -  it's just teamwork. Like how people who understand tech work to remove the need for manual CSAM review with processes like hashing.

Being safe online

If using the internet or letting a child use the internet, be extremely safe, even to the point of absurdity, because the internet has so many dangers.

If you are the minor who uses the internet, then it can be your responsibility to keep yourself safe.

We have some safety tips on the resources page, but please search up how to stay safe on the platforms you use.

If you are involved in reporting this content online because you know where it is, then absolutely do not put yourself in a situation where you could see CSAM, even if it is to report it. It is harmful to you, and to survivors. - Letter to "pedo hunters"

New dangers are constantly happening that just can't be kept up with. As of now - simply sending a photo of a child online can result in that photo being used to train AI to generate fake child sexual abuse material based off the photo. - this is among many highly specific risks that are rising with the modern technology we have.

    IV: 

Good mindset & helping survivors

After something like this has happened... After CSE has affected your life, however it may be, then please do your best to not give it any power over your life. This is brings so much hope to this problem, and if you go and tell other people about how you did that, then it truly gives purpose to the situation you are in.

Create a safe place for someone who has gone through this. You probably already know how to be a good person, though.

We have to make the best out of this problem that exists in the world, we need to have a good mindset about it, and we need to help people.

Praying for, and helping survivors of CSE. Listening to them. Helping certain pedophiles and being there for them as well.

Giving support to people in our day to day lives is how we can best help I think.

I also think it's extremely important to focus on the outcome of this goal, and when doing work against it, keeping in mind a world without the evil of child exploitation

Keeping in mind how amazing it would be to destroy this sickness by focusing so passionately and lovingly on the problem, and making the problem part of us to understand it deeply.

We literally have to succeed.

You'll notice that the best solutions to this evil problem are extremely simple.

Or, some solutions are just choosing not to participate in a corrupt system, and therefore giving evil no power.
