What are we working on?
The projects surrounding EndCE.org and those lead by me are very slow, unproductive, and get 'reset' endlessly to to many factors.
So how do I put forward a tangible, achievable goal - a project, and direct the talent of our online space towards getting something done? I can't point to a single fucking thing we've made in recent years, despite the abundance of talent that does exist in this space, from coders to OPSEC.
You all are seriously talented. But I have a leadership problem. We are working on nothing as a team right now.
For a season here and there, I'm tempted with other kinds of work, like DIY predator OSINT investigations. This is not what I am supposed to do. I am supposed to write, and have a generalist approach to ending CE through these journals.
So I'll continue along doing things by myself for this period while using EndCE.org as a sort of personal website.
And here's the list of projects I have in mind.
Designing models, visuals and websites
Like a map showing the war against exploitation, a map for families helping them navigate exploitation risks (NCOSE is doing a version of this), or a learning module helping people understand the injustice of our time.
Designing tools
A bot to autocollect and report CSAM Mega links, perhaps a tool for finding things online effectively, or a browser extension for safely and effectively reporting CSAM, or a tool to navigate reporting child exploitation scenarios, because the current process is full of problems. The process of reporting injustice done to children online needs to be empowering. I've seen it be nothing but upsetting for years of handling a ticket system in our Discord
Write a guide or research paper
Maybe guides like "Finding your role in the war against exploitation", "How to effectively and fully get the most out of an online exploitation scenario", "How to actually understand missing posters, and do something about it", or even "How to cut all exploitation out of your life" (because exploitation is baked in to every aspect of society from farming to economics to tech to communication with our neighbors) Or research papers like a breakdown on the 24/7 occurring CSAM ring facilitated through Disboard.org and Discord.com. We can also continue documenting the wide array of problems that the anti predator community runs into when seeing these predator tragedies, as well as the people reporting CE broadly, and the OSINT communities, and even the rest of society's problems with handling CE as we can come closer to finishing the "diagnosis" part of ending this great injustice. But it's important to stay focused here, and recognize our 'lane of work' and again, let other people fix other problems.
We can create videos together, or we can partner with content creators to get this message to the world.
Or even an OSINT team to revolutionize the online anti predator space
"We started with low impact 'pedo hunting' (raiding chatrooms, nukes, doxxing, spam reports) and I want us to work on a higher level, legally and safely, but following a set of values/morals in a multifaceted approach" Strict following of rules like age verification, content exposure like image blocking, leaving no detail overlooked, etc. Helping low level anti-predator people transition to high level work, and providing an adoptable framework to apply to anti-predator work across the internet.
These things are all ambitious.
But again, just that philosophy that there's so much talent among people, and so many people looking for work to do that is for this great goal.
I know it's possible.
